Finally! I’m launching a podcast… coming to you on June 9th, 2022! This podcast will be a one-stop-shop for — you guessed it!! All things disciple-making — the thing I am most passionate about! You won’t want to miss it!
You’ve heard me say this before – Jesus’ last words were to make disciples– and yet there are NOT enough Christians devoted to living out that command. Through these short messages, I want to equip you to HEAR the word of God, THINK about what it says, and then go DO something about it. But also – when you share these podcast messages, you’re helping to take the message of disciple-making and equip those around you!
MULTIPLYING DISCIPLE-MAKERS:
I have been discipling this guy – Dillon Everett, for a little under a year now, and I have loved spending time with him every week. Earlier this month, I even got the privilege of performing his wedding!
On April 26, Dillon finished The Four Priorities, so I passed the baton of disciple-making over to him. In Dillon’s words, “The disciple-making process with John has been truly pivotal in how I view my mission and God’s will for my life. Not only have I seen the impact discipleship has had on my own walk, but I have seen the importance and the opportunity to reciprocate it along to other men. I am now discipling other men and committed to multiply disciples for the rest of my life.“
I’m excited to see him continue running the race and pass the baton to others! We are so encouraged by men who step up to do what Jesus has called them to do to make disciples.
On May 11, I had the privilege of speaking at The Heights Church in Richardson, Texas to people who are currently discipling others. This is a picture of my friend Dr. Carl Couch (who has been a disciple-maker for years) passing the baton to four of his guys! Because of Dr. Couch’s time invested with his pastor, the pastor is now leading a disciple-making movement through his church.
The Gathering of Men series just ended and we had over 120 men joining us over the two weeks. I spoke about the only One Way to get to the Father (John 14:6) and a passage from Mark 10 about the rich young ruler called, Waste Management. As always, you can watch any of our past messages here!
By the way, we sure are appreciative to our friends at Northwest Bible Church for hosting us for the past 3 years. Even in the midst of their recent renovations, they have been the best hosts to us. Thank you Northwest Bible Church!!
PRAYER:
I spoke at a fundraiser for the ministry that dear friends of ours started, called Bring the Light. Their mission is to gather servant leaders to go into the broken parts of Dallas and bring the light. Their team serves mainly the South Dallas area by providing food and necessities to those in need. Will you pray with us that their ministry would prosper and grow as they seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus?
How can we pray for you? Punky and I consider it a great privilege to pray for you — specifically, for a need or burden you might have, or to celebrate what God is doing in your life. This is one way we can stay connected to do you and do life together. Just comment here and let us know how to pray — and we will.
Warmly in Him,
John Tolson
