Gathered and Scattered

Jun 08 2017 Gathered and Scattered

83% of Americans polled identify themselves as Christians!

A Christian, according to the Bible, is a person that has Jesus living in their life (Colossians 1:27 – “Christ in you”).

On the weekend, 46.5% of Christians attend church. They GATHER.

When the services are over, they SCATTER. They go to their homes, places of work, etc.

In the church building, we see CHURCH WORK.

When Christians go out into the world, we see the WORK OF THE CHURCH.

The local church is not to be a Christian employment agency. We will never get all the members/attendees jobs in the building.

The WORK OF THE CHURCH is where the action is – where you are between Sundays.

So what IMPACT are you having for Jesus where are you BETWEEN SUNDAYS?

Jesus said, “You (and only you, as a Christian) are the salt of the earth.”

“You (and only you, as a Christian) are the light of the world.”

                                                                                                                          Matthew 5:13-14

83% of Americans are Christians! Really? Why aren’t Christians making a greater difference?

Maybe:

  • They are really not Christians
  • They are not prepared to make a difference
  • They aren’t being obedient to do what Jesus said to do

Remember:

TO KNOW AND NOT TO DO IS NOT TO KNOW AT ALL.

You think about that!

Warmly In Him,
